I purchased your Star Solar garden lights, Model number 3703WML5 from Kay's, the catalogue people for £29.00.
I have only had the lights 2 months and they stopped working. I noticed there was a rusty substance coming from where the switch is on the back. I am a person very familiar with electronics, so I opened up the case to find that most of the components on the circuit board were rusty and corroded. I then discovered that these lights are NOT properly sealed against the weather, as there was also an accumulation of water and moisture inside. I know they are manufactured in China, but one would think that for the price, they should be properly sealed, after all I don't think it is intended that you need to take them in out of the weather.
I intend in contacting Kay's to tell them that these products are definitely faulty, and I am positive given the construction of the units, that more people will be having the same problem.
This is definitely not a 'one off' fault, but clearly a manufacturing fault. Therefore I am telling you they are not fit for the purpose for which they were intended, and also they could not withstand, given the faulty seals, any rain or garden hose water which may come in contact with the unit, as the water would definitely penetrate the inside.
Personally I feel that to advertise them for the garden, intending them to be left outside is quite misleading advertising, and fraudulent.
I definitely will be taking this matter further, and will also speak with the management at Kay's, where I purchased your product.
