New: Aruba Solar Bistro Table Set
Solar garden product specialist, Smart Solar, is launching a brand new concept in garden décor at GAFA and GLEE with their Aruba Solar Bistro Set. The bistro table has a glass top with a frosted design that lights up with either 8 colour-changing or 8 white LED’s during darkness. The unique LED integrated lighting and solar module fits in the centre of the table, providing a delightful outdoor ambience for patios, decks and balconies. Fully powered by the sun, the module creates a magical effect through the Aruba table glass. Made from practical dark brown faux rattan with an aluminium frame, the table and the two chairs are suitable for prolonged outdoor use, although both the chairs and the table can be folded away for easy storage. Jonathan Stobart, Smart Solar’s managing director, commented, “Smart Solar has a long history of designing innovative solar products and we are very excited about the new Aruba Solar Bistro Set, which is an attractive feature in any sized garden for warm summer evenings.” This product, which has a patent pending, will be on show at Glee along with Smart Solar’s other new lighting, aquatic and water feature ranges.

Smart Solar record retail sales success
Solar garden product specialist, Smart Solar, has recorded a number of notable sales successes with major retail chains across the UK, France, Germany and the USA. Smart Solar’s new ranges of solar powered garden lighting, water features and aquatics have proven particularly popular with buyers from several leading high street retailers. One of the reasons for these exceptional sales successes is the introduction of a range of decorative lighting products that are garden ornaments by day but solar lights by night, providing a product that has longer functionality. Jonathan Stobart, Smart Solar’s managing director, commented, “We have invested heavily in a new decorative lighting sector which is we believe is right for the current economic climate. The products are pitched at a price where they are an impulse buy and they perform a dual function, firstly as a decorative item for the garden by day and then as a solar light by night. Early indications are that this was a good strategy, so we are looking forward to high sales levels in all countries.”

New Try Me packaging succeeds in generating more sales
Smart Solar introduced this season new "Try Me" retail packaging for many of their solar lights this season, including string lights of butterflies, dragonflies and stars, as well as animal stake lights. Each box shows the product behind a clear window with a "Try Me" button so that consumers can test the product themselves and see the lights lit up, and with others there is a single "Try Me" button on the front of the POS to show the product working. "Try Me" boxes are available for Smart Solar's Star light string of 30 white LED's as well as their Dragonfly and Butterfly strings each with 20 colour-changing LED's. POS trays of stake lights featuring Butterflies, Dragonflies and Humming Birds also have the "Try Me" incorporated in each tray, which can be stacked in multiple sets or placed on normal shelving, or near the till. Paul Knott, sales director for Smart Solar, commented, "If consumers hold down the "Try Me" button on our Butterfly or Dragonfly light strings, they can see the whole spectrum of the colour-changing cycle, which is really impressive, or see the white light effect on the Stars. Retailers really like this feature as it saves people opening up boxes to look at the product, hence reducing damage to stock, and consumers find it easier to make the decision to buy having seen the product working. Repeat orders of these items as retailers increase their sales accordingly is proof of its success."
